Unnar zählt ein, dann röhren Gitarre und Bass in schnellem Rhythmus. Als der Sänger in das Mikrofon brüllt, bringt der Schall die Tabakkrümel auf dem Teppichboden zum Tanzen. Vier gewaltige Verstärker und ein paar Instrumente: Mit so wenigen Mitteln wird die Garage von Unnar am Rande Reykjaviks zum Proberaum.
Unnar ist eigentlich Programmierer in einer Bank, aber in seiner Freizeit spielt er Schlagzeug in der Metalband Axeorder. Deshalb hat er seine Garage umfunktioniert: Die Wände sind mit Schallschutz gepolstert. An der Wand steht ein Sofa, auf dem Tisch liegt eine Gartenschere, ein Akkuschrauber, daneben stehen zwei leere Bierdosen. Über den Teppichboden ziehen sich Kabelstränge, in der Ecke rauscht ein Ventilator. "Die Wohnung nebenan ist nett - aber eigentlich habe ich sie nur wegen der Garage genommen", sagt Unnar.

Unnar counts to four, than guitar and bass start to roar in a fast rhythm. The noise makes the tobacco crumbs dance on the carpet, when the singer shouts in the microphone. Four giant amps and a few instruments: With such little means the garage of Unnar at the edge of Reykjavik becomes the main base for his metal band Axeorder.
Unnar actually is a programmer at a bank, but in his free time he plays the drums. For that reason he remodeled his garage completely: The walls are covered in soundproof foam. At the wall a sofa, on the table lies a garden scissor, a screwdriver, next to it stand two empty beer cans. Strings of cables run over the carpet, in the corner soars a ventilator. "I like the apartment next door - but actually I took it because of the garage", Unnar says.
